It's unbelievable that this happened, given the record heat and the fact that the race directors knew of the forecast at least a week before the race! Thankfully, the supportive specatators hosed us down and one even gave me her own personal water bottle.

That's one reason I don't do the BIG races like the London marathon. Too many people, too much hassle. Give me small races in the countryside anyday. Maybe I am suited to self supported racing..... :)
